How to best care for my leather bag?

Our top tip definitely would be to make good use of the Linden Is Enough leather beeswax cream that came as a gift with your order. It’s completely natural and homemade and will work wonders on your leather, whether it’s a cow hide bag such as our duffles or messengers, or soft lamb leather as seen on our totes and smaller bags.

How do I use my Linden Is Enough homemade beeswax cream?

We recommend re-applying the beeswax cream every 3-6 months or after being exposed to water. Follow the steps bellow:

1) Make sure the leather is bone dry before using the cream.

2) Gently work a thin coat into the leather and seams using a soft, clean, and dry cloth.

3)Wipe off excess and buff to a shine with dry flannel cloth or horsehair brush.

How often you should condition depends on usage and climate, so make sure to pay attention to for example any brittleness or dryness developing.

Is my bag water resistant?

The short answer is: no.

We apply a thin layer of our homemade beeswax cream to each and every item which will to an extent weather proof your bag. Nonetheless, leather and water are not great friends and you should avoid getting your bag wet.

We work exclusively with vegetable tanned leather, which means you have an incredibly authentic and top quality bag. However, without that thick layer of finishing (or plastic) that you will find on more mass produced items your leather is more raw and exposed to your environment, so do take good care.

Should I keep my bag out of sunlight?

Leather is ultimately skin. Thus, just like your own, when vegetable tanned and kept natural and authentic, leather will tan and age in the sunlight. If you're happy with speeding the natural variations and patina that the sun will cause, no problem, but if you'd like to keep your bag its original color for longer, avoid direct sunlight.

Also, remember how the sun dries out your skin? Well, it will have the same effect on leather. Keep an eye on your bag and if you notice it's a bit dry or brittle, you can condition it with a thin layer of our beeswax cream.

What's your return policy?

If for any reason the item you purchased from us didn't work out, you may return or exchange your item in original, unused condition within 30 days of receipt for an exchange or refund.

Only items returned in original condition can be exchanged or refunded.

Customers are responsible for any incurred shipping costs (unless item arrived damaged, defective or it was sent in error).

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS CANNOT BE RETURNED OR EXCHANGED:

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, we can't accept returns for custom or personalised orders (i.e.embossing). Embossing is done by hand using traditional machines, making each item unique.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. Your refund, if applicable, will be processed and a credit will be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Processing time will depend on your method of payment and your bank’s policies.
